Deck Summary: This deck was created by Victoria Moseley, and is beautiful in every way. The summary on the box says the "Vintage Wisdom Oracle deck presents 52 lavishly illustrated oracle cards infused with the beauty and inspiration of goddesses, divas and muses from bygone eras. Rich in symbolic detail, these nostalgic montages have been artfully crafted from French vintage postcards and sepia family photographs, embellished with delicate flowers and lace." This is the best description of it that pretty much anyone could give.
The Packaging: Ahhh my love for decks that come in hard boxes continues. Thank you from saving me from having to by a bag for this deck (even though I love my tarot bags!). The front of the box has some decorative silver foiling, and the picture of the "Dream" card on the front. The sepia coloring of the photo on the front realy give you a great sense of the kind of deck you are getting before you even open the box.
The Book: The book for the Vintage Wisdom Oracle is a full book that fits right inside the box, with the meanings of each card and a short forward. One thing I enjoy about the book is that instead of just having a few words for the meanings, the author gives a bit of a story about each picture and each card. Also, the meanings are deep, not just silly, frilly meanings which one might think because of the look of deck. She shows you how each card can relate to an aspect of yourself, which I liked. In the back of the book, the author actually encourages readers to use the deck without the meanings in the book and even mentions using reversals if you so please. She wants us to use our intuition more, which is one reason I personally enjoy reading with oracle cards decks. She also includes 5 spreads that could be used for this deck or really any cartomancy you might be doing which is neat
Divination Potential: This deck might be sweet and pretty, but it packs a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick full of truth. It's great for dealing with people in delicate situations, because it is very good at being honest but in a way that is easy to take.
Final Note: After getting clicking the "Buy" button to get this deck, I thought again about whether or not I was going to like this deck when I received it. I thought it might be too girly, too frivolous. I WAS SUPER WRONG. I love love this deck, and if you like a woman who shows you she can be a strong, smart badass with even getting a run in stockings, this is deck you might just love as much as I do.
